Shane is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Insolvency and Restructuring and Commercial Litigation Departments.

Shane has over 12 years’ experience advising both private and commercial clients in all aspects of commercial litigation, insolvency, recovery and enforcement matters and has acted on behalf of a number of the main financial institutions in Ireland, insolvency practitioners and investment funds, advising on a range of insolvency and commercial litigation issues.

Some of Shane’s most recent representative work includes:

  • Acting for a global aircraft lessor in Commercial Court proceedings against a Russian owned cargo-airline, securing a Mareva Injunction over its global assets and recognition of a US judgment in excess of €400m.
  • Representing the investment manager in a $540m claim by an investment fund against HSBC stemming from the “Bernie Madoff fraud” in the Commercial Court that involved one of the country’s first paperless trials.
  • Providing Irish law advices to an ad hoc group of secured lenders to Nordic Aviation Capital in relation to the Irish aspect of its Chapter 11 restructuring.
  • Providing Irish law advices to the security trustee in the recent global restructurings of Mallinckrodt Plc and Weatherford International Plc.
  • Acting for the court appointed liquidator of a company in Commercial Court proceedings stemming from Missing Trader Intra-Community VAT fraud (Carousel VAT fraud).
  • Acting for lenders, investment funds and receivers in high value property recovery proceedings.
  • Acting for and advising liquidators in all aspects of contentious litigation and restriction/disqualification applications.
