Shane is a senior associate in our insolvency and restructuring team. He acts for both private and commercial clients in all aspects of insolvency, recovery and enforcement matters, including; examinerships, receiverships, liquidations and bankruptcies. In addition, Shane has extensive experience in commercial litigation and debt recovery matters.
Shane has acted on behalf of a number of the main financial institutions in Ireland, insolvency practitioners and investment funds, advising on a range of insolvency and litigation issues.
Some of Shane’s most recent representative work includes:
- Representing the investment manager in a $540m claim by an investment fund against HSBC stemming from the “Madoff fraud” in the Commercial Court that involved one of the country’s first paperless trials.
- Acting for a stakeholder in the examinership of Weatherford International plc, a NYSE listed company with over 250 subsidiaries in more than 80 countries.
- Providing Irish legal advices to a number of creditors in relation to a high profile part 9 scheme of arrangement.
- Acting for Ulster Bank Ireland in a variety of commercial litigation proceedings.
- Acting for lenders, investment funds and receivers in high value recovery proceedings.
- Acting for and advising various liquidators including recent liquidation of a large outdoor adventure centre held by a charitable entity.
