Shane is a partner in Dillon Eustace Asset Management and Investment Funds team with particular expertise in exchange traded funds (ETFs), UCITS and Alternative Investment Funds.
Shane has over 14 years’ experience in advising international asset management firms and investment banks in relation to the structuring, establishment and authorisation of Irish regulated investment funds and in providing regulatory advice to leading international asset managers and fund promoters. In addition to advising the promoters and investment managers of such funds, Shane advises fund investors, fund directors and fund service providers on relevant Irish law, regulatory issues impacting the asset management sector and market practice. Shane has a particular expertise in ETFs having advised several large asset managers and ETF specialists on the establishment of their Irish domiciled exchange traded fund products and is a member of the Irish chapter of Women in ETFs.
Shane's representative transactions include advising:
- Van Eck in relation to its Irish ETF platform, including in relation to the establishment of both active and passive sub-funds, and UCITS mutual fund.
- AXA Investment Managers on the establishment and maintenance of its Irish alternative investment funds, including private equity and secured finance strategies, and its Irish UCITS range.
- Portfolio Advisors, LLC on the structuring, establishment and ongoing maintenance of its investment limited partnership and ICAV private equity structures.
- A large North American asset manager on the structuring, establishment and ongoing operation of its QIAIF ICAV platform which is focused on investment in real estate products.
- On the establishment and operation of Alternative Investment Fund Managers, UCITS Management Companies and “Super-Manco” structures.
- A broad spectrum of UCITS – long-only funds, long/short funds, multi-asset funds, multi-manager funds, funds of accounts and UCITS which are sophisticated users of derivatives.
- European and non-European asset managers seeking Central Bank of Ireland approval to act as discretionary investment manager to Irish authorised funds.
- On the cross-border aspects of UCITS funds marketing and entering both European and non-European markets.
