Richard Looby

Richard is an Associate in the Asset Management and Investment Funds team.

Richard has a broad range of experience in acting for exchange traded funds (ETFs), UCITS and Alternative Investment Funds. Richard provides advices on the ongoing legal and regulatory requirements (including establishment and authorisation advices) to various ETF, UCITS and QIAIF clients as well as fund management companies.

Richard has also completed a secondment in the legal department of a large institutional asset manager in London, advising on the operation and regulation of their Irish fund range.

Richard is an Associate in the Asset Management and Investment Funds team.

Relevant Experience

Advising global asset managers (UK, US, and European) on the establishment, authorisation and operation of UCITS and AIFs (investment companies and ICAVs), and has worked extensively on the establishment of physical ETFs pursuing a wide variety of investment strategies.

Advising global asset managers with a broad spectrum of asset classes and strategies both on the UCITS and AIF side ranging from ESG funds, fixed income funds, private and public debt funds, multi-asset funds, emerging market funds, multi-manager funds and master-feeder funds.

Advising the promoters of, and service providers to, Irish domiciled investment funds including investment managers, fund administrators and depositaries in relation to depositary, administration, prime brokerage and other service agreements.
