Richard advises in the Tax team and is an AITI Chartered Tax Adviser. He joined Dillon Eustace in 2011, having previously trained in a Big 4 accountancy practice.

He advises across tax heads on a wide range of tax matters relating to investment funds, real estate, banking, leasing, distressed debt, Revenue interventions, structured finance and securitisation products.

He is considered an expert in the area of VAT on property transactions.

Richard is also a leading adviser in international tax reporting requirements (such as FATCA and CRS) and has been a member of the Irish Fund’s FATCA/CRS committee since 2015.

Richard's representative transactions include advising:

  • Several large private equity entities on real estate and other commercial transactions. In this regard, he has recently advised on the acquisition, development and disposal of a number of high-profile Irish land banks.
  • On the structuring and financing requirements of various types of commercial, structured finance and real estate transactions.
  • On various forward financing arrangements with regard to the acquisition of Irish real estate assets.
  • Several prominent non-banker lenders on various types of financing arrangements.
  • Provides ongoing advice to various types of Irish and Cayman entities (to include funds, special purpose vehicles, holding companies, life assurance companies etc.) in respect of their FATCA, CRS and Country-by-Country Reporting obligations.
