Richard advises in the Tax team and is an AITI Chartered Tax Adviser. He joined Dillon Eustace in 2011, having previously trained in a Big 4 accountancy practice.









Richard advises across tax heads on a wide range of tax matters relating to structured finance, securitization products, investment funds, real estate, banking, leasing, distressed debt and Revenue interventions. He is considered an expert in the area of VAT on property transactions. Richard is also a leading adviser in international tax reporting requirements (such as FATCA and CRS) and has been a member of the Irish Fund’s Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) committee since 2015.

Representative Transactions

· Advising various large private equity entities and investment banks on the tax structuring and financing requirements of various types of securitization and structured finance transactions, to include advising on the setting of many “Section 110” special purpose vehicles and the provision of the related Irish Tax Opinions.

Acting for numerous asset managers on the establishment of both regulated and unregulated Irish investment structures for investment in a wide variety of asset classes.

Advising several prominent non-banker lenders on various types of financing arrangements.

Acting for a number of large private equity entities on real estate transactions (both residential and commercial), including advising on the related tax structuring options (including regulated and unregulated structures).

Providing ongoing advice to various types of Irish and Cayman entities (to include funds, special purpose vehicles, holding companies, life assurance companies etc.) in respect of their FATCA, CRS and Country-by-Country Reporting obligations.

Provision of Irish tax compliance services (including corporation tax and VAT) to various types of special purpose vehicles, investment funds, partnerships, holding companies and trading companies.
