Laura is a Partner in our Asset Management and Investment Funds team. She has extensive experience advising investment funds, asset managers, management companies and their service providers on carrying on business in Ireland including the provision of advices on authorisation of a fund, ongoing advices throughout the life of a fund and advices upon liquidation and revocation of authorisation.

Laura trained in Dillon Eustace and qualified as a solicitor in 2015 in the Financial Services Department. She advises leading asset managers predominantly based in Europe and Asia on carrying on business in Ireland. In particular, she advises upon the structuring, establishment and operation of all types of UCITS and alternative investment funds including those structured as master-feeder, index tracking, money market and exchange traded funds.

Laura broadened her experience on a secondment to a dual authorised AIFM and UCITS management company in Ireland with a particular focus on distribution.

Laura is a council member of the Ireland Japan Association. She is also a member of an Irish Funds working group and a member of our internal Individual Accountability Framework working group.

Laura’s representative transactions include:

  • Advising promoters on the establishment and authorisation UCITS and AIFs (investment companies, unit trusts, ICAVs) including a wide range of strategies;
  • Advising asset managers domiciled in Europe, US and Asia seeking Central Bank of Ireland approval to act as discretionary investment managers to Irish authorised funds;
  • Advising an asset manager domiciled in Italy on the establishment of a number of ETF sub-funds within a UCITS umbrella;
  • Advising an asset manager domiciled in Singapore on the establishment of an ETF sub-fund within a UCITS umbrella;
  • Advising an Irish domiciled asset manager on an investment company to ICAV conversion;
  • Advising a Japan domiciled asset manager on a re-domiciliation by way of continuation of a regulated company in the Cayman Islands to Ireland, as a UCITS ICAV;
  • Advising on both domestic and cross-border mergers for both the receiving and merging funds;
  • Advising asset managers on the establishment of ESG focused funds, required disclosures and regulatory framework.
