Elaine Healy is a Partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. She specialises in personal injuries litigation in particular employer's and public liability claims. She acts on behalf of insurers and self insured entities defending claims.

Elaine Healy specialises in Litigation and Dispute Resolution and is Head of the Insurance Fraud team. Elaine advises on a broad range of litigation and advisory work for national and international insurance companies in motor, employer’s liability, public liability and product liability claims.

She has a specialist interest in mediation and has been involved in a number of successful mediations.

Elaine represents a number private healthcare organisations and nursing homes in the defence of medical negligence claims as well as advising insurers on the practical implications of new legislation and cost saving measures in the claims arena. She is a regular speaker at in-house CPD sessions with various insurance companies and lectures at the Insurance Institute of Ireland.

Elaine’s representative transactions include:

  • Defending actions on behalf of insurers in a broad variety of cases.
  • Investigating and defending fraudulent and exaggerated claims.
  • Managing catastrophic injury cases and assessing recoverable future losses, cost of future care, loss of earnings and pension, house adaptation costs and successfully disposing of cases on an economical basis.
  • Negotiating settlements, resulting in significant savings for insurers.
  • Advising private healthcare organisations on internal procedures and defending medical negligence actions on their behalf.
  • Advising insurers on various aspects of motor insurance law and regulatory requirements, including Consumer Protection Legislation and Codes. Engaging in mediation to reach successful results for her clients.
