Benedicte O'Connor is a partner in the Asset Management and Investment Funds team. She specialises in providing legal and regulatory advices relating to the establishment and on-going management / operation of Irish UCITS and AIF structures.

Benedicte has over 20 years experience in advising Irish regulated funds, having worked previously as in-house counsel in a large Irish based fund service provider. Her experience covers a wide range of legal and regulatory matters covering the structuring, establishment, amalgamation and regulation of UCITS and AIFs, as well as advising fund promoters and their service providers, including UCITS management companies and AIFMs.

Benedicte’s representative transactions include advising:

  • a UK institutional investment manager regarding the formation of a large Irish UCITS umbrella and providing ongoing advices to the UCITS platform with multiple global investment managers.
  • an Irish management company on the establishment and regulation of both UCITS and AIF funds with multiple investment strategies, to include the merger of various UCITS funds on a cross border basis under the UCITS Directive.
  • French and Spanish authorised AIFMs regarding their Irish based QIAIF products.
  • an Irish based fund service provider in relation to its engagement / supervisory interaction with the Central Bank of Ireland.
  • a UK asset manager regarding the establishment of various ESG (Article 8 and Article 9 funds) and ongoing ESG regulatory requirements.
