John O'Riordan shortlisted in Benchmark Litigation Europe Awards 2025

John O'Riordan, Partner and Head of our Commercial Litigation team, has been shortlisted in the Benchmark Litigation Europe Awards 2025.

John has been nominated in the Commercial Disputes Litigator of the Year category in this year's awards.

The awards recognise the country’s most distinguished litigators and their firms for their exemplary work over the past twelve months. Lawyers are shortlisted based on extensive peer review-based research and submission reviews.

John advises clients on financial services litigation, shareholder disputes, claims arising from the breakdown of business relations, fraud and asset recovery, property related disputes and regulatory investigations.

Some of John’s recent high profile work includes:

• Acted for a former director of Web Summit, a global technology events company, in high profile Commercial Court proceedings arising from a dispute between shareholders of Web Summit, including claims of shareholder oppression and breach of a profit share agreement.

• Acted for a former director of Web Summit in the defence of high profile Commercial Court proceedings alleging breach of director’s duties.

• Acting for defendants in commercial court proceedings in respect of a breach of warranty claim arising from a Share Purchase Agreement.

• Representing defendants in a commercial court claim for damages for alleged breach of an Asset Management Agreement.
