Financial Regulation

Dillon Eustace is delighted to have advised Confirmo Limited on its successful establishment in Ireland and authorisation as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP).

Confirmo becomes the first CASP to be licensed in Ireland that did not previously have a group presence here under the AML registration regime, demonstrating Ireland’s continued attractiveness as an EU base for crypto firms.

Confirmo has been a crypto payment processor since 2014 and its platform is one of the most trusted in the industry. The establishment of the MiCA licenced Irish firm is designed to facilitate the continued growth of the EU business in full compliance with the highest standards of governance, risk management, client asset safeguarding, and operational resilience.

The Dillon Eustace team was led by Keith Waine (Partner, Financial Regulation) and included Brian McGlone (Solicitor, Financial Regulation), Karen Jennings (Of Counsel, Financial Regulation), David Kavanagh (Partner, Employment), and David Lawless (Head of Taxation).

If you are considering Ireland as a location for your CASP business, please contact Keith Waine who will be happy to discuss the process and how you can best prepare.
