Defending insurers in a wide range of personal injury claims, with particular expertise in road traffic accidents, industrial disease claims, catastrophic injury claims and claims against schools and county councils.
Representing MiFID investment firms in relation to a range of Central Bank enforcement matters, including regulatory capital, fitness and probity rules, client categorisation and contracts for difference.
Acting for a party to a proposed acquisition under MiFID Regulations in an appeal to the Irish Financial Services Appeals Tribunal (IFSAT) against a decision of the Central Bank of Ireland opposing the acquisition.
Providing legal advice on complex, high value disputes involving the firm’s investment funds and financial services clients, including acting for an investment management firm in the defence of a damages claim arising from a cancelled fund subscription, representing defendants in a commercial court claim for damages for an alleged breach of an asset management agreement and acting for an investment manager in a €500 million claim stemming from the ‘Bernie Madoff fraud’ litigation.
