Professional Support Lawyer - Asset Management & Investment Funds

ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are seeking to recruit a Professional Support Lawyer to support the regulatory advisory work of practitioners in our Asset Management and Investment Funds practice. Additionally the role involves the development and management of the Asset Management and Investment Fund’s precedent documentation. The successful candidate will join an existing professional support lawyer within the team and will report to the Head of the Asset Management and Investment Funds practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting, developing and managing on an ongoing basis the Firm’s asset management and investment funds precedent documentation database
  • Managing the Department’s legal know-how database to include details of research carried out and advices provided
  • Monitoring developments in relevant financial services legislation, regulation and case law (Irish and EU)
  • Delivering timely updates, briefings and training to practitioners within the Asset Management and Investment Fund’s Group on financial services regulatory developments
  • Delivery of training and support to trainees and interns joining the team
  • Preparing and implementing the Firm-wide internal continuing professional development programme
  • Drafting client briefings
  • Contributing to client presentations
  • Working, as required, on specific projects related to legal resources, legal research, know-how and legal education
  • Assisting practitioners within the Asset Management and Investment Funds Group in researching legal queries that arise in the context of advising clients on relevant financial services regulatory matters.
  • Significant experience in financial services legal practice - ideally with leading Irish or international law firms or at the Irish or UK Bars

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will have:

  • Significant experience in financial services legal practice - ideally with leading Irish or international law firms or at the Irish or UK Bars
  • A strong interest in maintaining, developing and sharing relevant legal knowledge
  • Excellent legal research, drafting and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills; the ability to manage a busy workload and meet the legal support requirements of practitioners within the Group on a consistent and timely basis
  • The ability to work on his/her own initiative
  • Have an excellent academic background
  • Be qualified as a solicitor or barrister in Ireland and/or another common law jurisdiction
  • Have a minimum of 6 years PQE
