PROFILE: Peter joined Dillon Eustace in March 2015 and is a partner in the litigation and dispute resolution department. He has considerable experience advising clients in disputes arising from financial services, business relations, professional duties, fraud, personal injuries and loss, insurance coverage, (including Directors & Officers policies), and publication. He has acted for state bodies, financial institutions, companies and individuals in the various dispute resolution fora including formal court proceedings, mediation and arbitration. He also advises in relation to inquiries and investigations, including advising individuals in respect of fitness and probity matters raised by the Central Bank.

Peter is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), the Commercial Litigation Association of Ireland (CLAI), the Defence Research Institute (DRI) and the Professional Negligence Lawyers' Association (PNLA).

 REPRESENTATIVE ACTIONS:

• Acting for a bank in the successful dismissal of a mis-selling case in the Commercial Court.

• Acting for a bank in the successful defence of a challenge to the enforcement of loans which had been securitised.

• Acting for NAMA in Commercial Court proceedings against a guarantor.

• Acting in a dispute before the Irish Financial Services Appeals Tribunal.

• Advising a state body on a wide range of disputes including multiple judicial reviews.

• Acting for a semi-state body in an arbitration of a dispute arising from a commercial joint venture.

• Advising the professional indemnity insurers of a solicitor struck off the Roll of Solicitors in relation to a range of claims and coverage issues.

• Representing insurers in coverage disputes determined at arbitration.

• Acting for a US-based individual in a challenge to the provision of evidence in Ireland for criminal proceedings in Italy pursuant to a request for mutual legal assistance.

• Advising employers in relation to health and safety matters including investigations.

• Advising clients in relation to product liability claims.

• Advising individuals in relation to fitness and probity matters raised by the Central Bank.

• Advising on coverage under Directors and officers insurance policies.
