In December 2000, the firm opened its first overseas office in Tokyo to service its Asian client base. Since its establishment, Dillon Eustace has consistently been the law firm of choice for the majority of Asian financial institutions seeking to use Ireland as a gateway to Europe. The opening of the Tokyo office was a natural step in the firm's development of this business.
Located in the centre of Tokyo's Business District, our office also serves members of the Irish business community seeking introductions in the city as well as providing an on-the-spot, immediate service to our Japanese clients in their own time zone.
Examples of some of the work engaged in by our Tokyo office include the establishment (both in Dublin and Cayman) of mutual funds for sale into Japan, representing Asian companies in litigation proceedings with Irish counterparts, advising on the repackaging of distressed Korean securities and the securitisation of Japanese Yen denominated airline ticket receivables as well as numerous private equity structures and investments across a broad spectrum of business areas.
